Zikrly privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-07

Draft. Zikrly has not been released yet, and this policy will be finalised before it is published to the stores.

Summary

Zikrly has no user accounts, no backend of its own, no analytics SDK and no ads. Your prayer records, qada tracking, dhikr counts, reading progress, favourites and settings are stored on your device and are not sent to me.

Data stored on your device

Deleting the app removes this data. There is no copy on a server.

Location

With your permission, Zikrly uses your device location to calculate prayer times, show the qibla direction and find nearby places. Prayer times and qibla are calculated on the device. The name of your city is resolved through your operating system’s geocoding service (Apple or Google).

Motion sensors

The qibla compass reads your device’s magnetometer. Sensor readings stay on the device.

Third-party services the app contacts

Some features need data from the internet. When you use them, the app sends requests directly from your device to the services below. Those requests include your IP address and, where noted, a location or search text. Zikrly sends no account or device identifier of its own with them.

Each of these services handles requests under its own privacy policy. If you do not use the halal-place finder or the map, none of these requests are made.

External links

Zikrly can open external websites and map apps, for example for directions or reference material. Once you leave the app, the privacy policy of that website or app applies.

Notifications

Prayer-time notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification server is involved.

Children

Zikrly does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
